Ringside Maisie is a 1941 American comedy-drama film directed by Edwin L. Marin and starring Ann Sothern in the titular role of Maisie Ravier. The film is the fourth installment in the ten-film Maisie series produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from 1939 to 1947.
In Ringside Maisie, Maisie Ravier is a former burlesque dancer who gets a job as a "gimmick girl" in a boxing gym. She ends up becoming involved in the personal lives of the boxers as well as their professional careers, and helps one of them, "Young" Tommy Shea, to get a shot at the championship. Along the way, she also gets into a romantic relationship with a newspaper columnist, Terry Dolan.
The film was well received by audiences and critics, particularly for Sothern's performance as Maisie, who was seen as a strong and independent female character. The movie also features performances by George Murphy, Robert Sterling, and John Hubbard.
